Little Surprises Chapter One
Someone had keyed his new Porsche sedan. He tried not to snort as he took in the scene, though he wasn't really surprised. Why should he have been? He knew that he was not very well liked, and honestly? He was perfectly fine with that. At twenty-three he made more money than most of his friends, and he had an amazing apartment on a high floor of a coveted apartment building in a gorgeous neighborhood. His friends would often make fun of him because the only reason he was able to get the pharmaceutical rep job that afforded the life he was leading was because of his father, but he would honestly swear that it was more than that.

"This is a bad idea," Tempest hissed after Vaughn had got out of his car. "I can't even believe that I let you talk me into this. I'm going to get caught!"
Vaughn gently touched the pocket in the front of his polo-shirt, taking care not to slam the door so it wouldn't hurt Tempest's ears. "You're going to be fine. Just stay there, and be quiet until we're in my uncle's room. Can you at least stop complaining? You were annoying enough in the car."
"Shut up," Tempest grumbled as Vaughn leaned against his car for a moment, securing a blue tooth in his ear. "What are you doing?" she called up to him.
"Jus

"I just don't understand this place," Tempest called to Vaughn as he started to crack eggs in a large pan. "How is this even possible?"
"What are you talking about?" Vaughn asked with his back turned to her. He needed to concentrate. It had been awhile since he had made eggs but when Tempest boldly suggested it, he had to oblige. "How is what even possible?"
"This world. Everything about it seems so human."
"Well that's because I am human."
"And so am I," Tempest quickly added.
"Yes you are," Vaughn put in, just as quickly and turned back to her. "I know that you are a human. You don't have t

When Vaughn woke up a few hours later he couldn't help but smile. He had assumed that maybe Tempest would have left, gone somewhere else to sleep but lifting his hand gently he saw that she was still there, and still sleeping. He couldn't help himself, and delicately ran his finger over the bandages he had made for her to protect her bruises. Really, he was testing to see how gentle he could be with her. If he could run his fingertips over her bruises without her wincing or waking up, he would consider himself a success. The girl remained stationary on top of him as he delicately touched her arms and back. He had never seen a woman bef

When Tempest woke up again she expected to be at the mercy of her stepfather. She let out a loud gasp as the darkness of the room settled upon her but this place didn't smell like her room in the attic of the farm. This place the air was clean, and quite pleasant. She sat up on her hands and tried to let her eyes adjust to the dark. Where was she? The ground below her didn't feel very steady and reaching around she felt strong wires that covered a smooth and almost leathery surface.
"What the hell?" she muttered and continued to touch the strange texture.
Suddenly, the ground rose up and fell and she gasped loudly again. The

When Vaughn woke up the next morning, he immediately thought of the tiny woman that had come alive in the cupboard. Had it been a dream? A realization that perhaps he was lonelier in this condo than thought? He pondered for a moment and then glanced over at his nightstand where the hunched figure was now resting in front of his alarm clock.
Yes is had happened. And yes he was losing his mind. He didn't exactly remember setting the girl there the night before but the fact that he had kept her close to him even in this plastic state, meant something. He also remembered that he had promised to meet Kaimus for lunch toda

She wasn't sure what to think of the man who was a giant. Leaning against the cool grass she let her eyes drift to the clouds and thought about him for what was probably the 50th time in the past two days. She didn't quite trust him completely but she had to admit that every time he sent her back, she felt a little more comfortable that he would do it again. But she still didn't know whether to hate him or be understanding about the fact that he had grabbed her. It was such a strange feeling to be held between his fingers. She could remember them twitching, her heartbeat pounding against the thick pads of his fingertips. It was odd.

"I don't get you man, those girls were all hot!" Kaimus said sloppily as he walked up with Vaughn to his room.
"Why are you still following me?" Vaughn said irritably. "I told you I was done for the night and you've obviously had a little too much fun tonight."
"Oh shut the hell up," Kaimus grumbled. "I thought I could crash at your place I don't think my mom needs to see me like this."
"I don't even know why you still live at home. You have more than enough money to move out and get your own place."
Kaimus shrugged. "Meh. I like having my car."
"Your car isn't that great," Vaughn frowned with his key in the doo

Little Surprises Chapter Two
He threw the cupboard down his bureau in his bedroom, unsure of what to do with such an old medicine cabinet. Despite having rid himself of the figurines, something pulled at him, warning him not to throw something away that was obviously nasty, but still holding meaning to his crazy great uncle.
"He really is bat ass crazy," he laughed as he begun to take off his suit. He would never tell anyone, but the one thing that he actually hated about his job was the uniform. He enjoyed wearing suits yes, they gave off a certain 'image' that he enjoyed, but he was only twenty-three, and in the comfort of his own apa
